Why we avoid marketoing on solemn holiday

Larry Duran

We occasionally get questions about why we do not create marketing campaigns and feature product sales around many of the solemn state, national, and religious holidays.  We wanted to take a moment and address this topic as concisely and transparently as possible.

Simply put, it is out of respect for what these days represent and commemorate that we avoid this practice.  While it is culturally acceptable to many, we consider it a subtle form of narcism to use solemn holidays to deflect attention to ourselves or our business let alone to capitalize monetarily from the occasion.  For us, this is a moral line in the sand even if it is considered by many to be a bad business decision for a small business like ours.  We hope and trust that you understand where we are coming from.
